RH&DR Hercules Class 4-8-2 (semi-fic)
Okay. So, this is a semi-fictional version of a real-life locomotive. What do I mean by semi-fictional? Well, the ‘real’ RH&DR Hercules is a 15 inch gauge engine that I just….kind of liked the look of. So I decided to make a full-sized, standard gauge interpretation of it because big 8 driving wheel freight engines just look cool.
This was originally supposed to be a fairly small, not-very-serious mod, but then scope creep happened, and now there’s 73 different model variants. >.>
-Liveries include RH&DR Red, RH&DR Blue, RH&DR Logoless Red,LNER Freight Black, LNER Green, LNER Wartime Black, BR Green, BR Blue & BR Black.
-4 tender variants – A ‘RH&DR style’ tender (basically an imagining of a full scale/oversized version of the RH&DR tender, minus the driver’s seat), GNR 8-wheel tender (from the LNER A1/A3), LNER 6-wheel tender (from the LNER P1), and LNER Corridor tender (from the LNER A4)
-Fictional variant with german-style smoke deflectors (ala LNER A3) also included.
-Full aging and recolour support. Detailed dirt and rust accumulates as the engine ages.
-Engines are sorted in depot menus to reduce purchase menu clutter.
-Small file size and .dds compressed textures, to help with load speed.
-Placeable rail assets.
-Moddable engine numbers – edit the number of the train and the number will display on the side of the locomotive.
