Description:

It is said four brave cloven warriors each entered holy shrines and temples around the world. There they single-handedly massacred its worshippers and defiled the once holy sites, decorating them with the entrails and limbs of their victims. Ordinarily the Chaos Gods pay little attention to the acts of the dutiful Beastmen but this vile act pleased them. As such each Chaos god ordained one as their champion, each bestowed with terrifying powers. These champions would serve as dark guardians of these new unholy sites. Beastmen flocked to their new champions, their forces growing more terrible and terrifying each day. Only by seeking out and destroying these “Guardians” could their enemies hope to stem the Horned Ones endless onslaught.

The Chaos Gods have seen fit to ordain four beastmen as their respective Champions, these warriors guard unholy sites in lands where the Beastmen lorefully exist. Their armies are embued with terrifying powers (think of them as Mini-Bosses). They will not move from these sites which are chosen at random at the campaign start making each playthrough unique. While these Dark Guardians exist their tribe is emboldened and the chaos magics empowers them. As such each turn there is a chance a Beastmen half-stack will spawn until their unholy champion is slain.

Horned Champions of Chaos

  • Champion of Khorne – Spawns around the Old World
  • Champion of Nurgle – Spawns around the Old World
  • Champion of Tzeentch – Spawns around Western Araby
  • Champion of Slaanesh – Spawns around Naggarond

So if you slay the Champion of Slaanesh, beastmen will no longer spawn in Naggarond and if you slay both the Champion of Khorne and Nurgle the beastmen will no longer spawn in the Old World Etc. The armies are also thematic to their god so for Nurgles Champion and army spawns you will see more Chaos Spawn and Poison Warhounds Etc.

Playing as Beastmen you can confederate the factions, you will get any special spawned armies (with decos units if subscribed to his mod) and the Champions Army but you will be unable to move him as his purpose is to guard but they’re 100% upkeep free so shouldn’t effect you too much.

Technical Info

This is a LUA script which is highly compatible with other mods as it runs separately to other mods. The script works basically by selecting one of several pre-determined scenarios and then making the necessary changes. The pack file name is SR_templebst if you want to have a look or edit anything.

Army spawns and any messages start from turn 5 this is because the player has a few vanilla messages to go through in the first few turns.

Spawn Criteria
Each area has a 4.5% chance of spawning an army per turn while the Champion exists.
