Description:

The battle for Villers-Bretonneux took place near Amiens in April 1918, it was part of the last big german offensive trying to end the war. Even if the initial advance was surprinsingly successful, the German were unable to take advantage of the ground they captured.

The battle opposed German, English, Australian Forces and French colonial infantry and saw the first real tank vs tank battle in history. It developped in two phases : the German attack and the allied counter-attack.

I made this "historical" mission because I was asked to make some with tanks and I think it shows well why they were not successful in WW1 : too slow compared with the infantry and vulnerable on the battlefield, even if they can be really helpful to attack fortified positions.

You can use the landwehr unit to dig trenches to defend new positions.

As always, enjoy the map/mission and cite me as the creator if you use it 😉
