Description:

After 2 weeks of procrastinating (and about 3 days of actual work) the I2 (+3) pack is finally here!

Also important- the cowling the I2-d was made by me, it isn’t from Shinx’s D6.

The I class 4-8-2’s were fast and powerful locomotives, with one of them (5609) holding the world steam speed record of 132.65 MPH between 1945 and 1960, when MER 2-8-4 709 beating it at 137 MPH. The AC&S had 3 main classes of Mountains, being the I1, I2, and I3. The I1’s were former N&W and B&O engines, while the I2’s and I3’s were built by ALCO and the AC&S in their Miami and Roanoke Shops. The I3 was a short lived locomotive, with a feedwater heater and no MARS light, unlike many of AC&S’s later steam.

There are a few variants of the I2’s in this pack being-
I2- The OG, numbered 5600.
I2-a, the class which 5609 was part of.
I2-BM- The largest class of mountains on AC&S, making up a third of ALL of their 179 4-8-2’s! These engines were simple, only having a MARS light above the normal headlight.
I2-d- A interesting locomotive for any railroad, as it had streamlined cowling on the top of the locomotive. This design was inspired by the competing Southern Pacific’s MT-4 and AC-9, as well as from the GF&S D6. Records have been found that one of the I2-d’s was the last engine to operate on the entire railroad, heading the Mojave limited before its dieselization in 1962.

I3- A simple locomotive, with a single headlight and a feedwater heater.
