Description:

Made by seanorse. NOTE! THIS CREATION IS INCREDIBLY PC INTENSIVE, AND MAKES USE OF BRICKS THAT ARE KNOWN TO DESYNC IN MULTIPLAYER.

The Q2 class of locomotives were a result of the Pennsylvania Railroad’s exploration into the practicality of duplex locomotives; locomotives that have two sets of driving wheels on a single frame. As a result these locomtives could not handle curves well. Additionally, the Q2’s were rather inefficient in their fuel use, needing to stop for water every 90 minues or so. Due to this, the duplex locomtives of Pennsylvania’s fleet were amongst the first to be sold off and scrapped.

Locomtive 6131 specifically is the first experimental locomotive of the Q2 Class, which had a total of 26 locomtives. They were designed specifically for freight service, and were amongst the largest and most powerful non-articulating locomotives ever built. They were only built in 1944 and 45, and were sold off by 1951 in lieu of diesel locomotion.
