Description:

This mod aims to address a few gripes I have with the current prosthetics mods that exist in Kenshi, introducing (from my perspective, anyway) a more balanced approach:

There are four tiers of prosthetics research, available at tech levels 2-5. They are as follows:

1) Elementary Prosthetics (1 Ancient Science Book) – Unlocks economic limbs and your entry-level prosthetics workbench, requiring no electricity to operate.

2) Intermediate Prosthetics (2 Ancient Science Books) – Unlocks skeleton limbs and an upgraded version of the previous prosthetics bench, requiring some electricity to operate and a higher material cost (even for economic limbs!)

3) Advanced Prosthetics (4 Ancient Science Books) – Unlocks KLR Series limbs and, again, an upgrade to your prosthetics bench, requiring much more electricity to operate. Similarly, the cost of prosthetics (even non-KLR) will go up.

4) Specialized Prosthetics (1 AI Core) – Unlocks stealth legs, the thief arm, and the steady arm, as well as the same benefits/maluses as the previous upgrades (increased electricity, increased cost, etc.).

Additionally, there are two researches you can pick up along the line, which I felt belonged before the final tier of prosthetic. Those are:

1) Motorized Legs (1 Ancient Science Book) – Unlocks scout legs, and can be researched after Intermediate Prosthetics. Can be made at a Prosthetics Bench II or up.

2) Hydraulic Joints (2 Ancient Science Books) – Unlocks industrial lifter arms, and can be researched after Advanced Prosthetics. Can be made at a Prosthetics Bench III or up.

Aside from that, there is a brand new starting scenario: The Prodigy Hiver. It fits somewhere in between Freedom Seekers and Nobodies. You start with 4 characters (the Prodigy, a Hive Prince, two worker drones, and a soldier drone levelled similarly to the retired captain), who have their own unique stat sheets, and immediate access to elementary prosthetics. Additionally, you start off as enemies with the Western Hive and Holy Nation, but friends with the Tech Hunters.

I also made one minor modification, which is making the robotics workbench use the Robotics skill (so you can more easily grind Robotics, which is used in manufacturing limbs).

I hope those of you who use this mod enjoy it, and find the balancing to be more in line with what you prefer. Feedback is appreciated and necessary as I have not yet tested everything!
