The research tree for these upgrades begins after completing [Heavy Laser Weapons]. If you load this mod after completing that stage of research, you will miss the window for starting it. I am looking into adding more conditions for the research to start at, which will happen in the next update.

Unlike the ballistic weapons, the lasers must be manufactured just like their base forms. You’ll see a slight cost increased per-part [ie expanded capacity adding $1k, improved lenses adding $2k, both together on one weapon adding $3k].

This mod aims to add the ability to upgrade some of the existing laser weapons in the game with researchable attachments, typically improving accuracy, handling (TU cost) and/or range. Part of the intention is to increase the amount of customization available to players without straying from the timeline and setting. Accuracy upgrades usually range around 5-10 percent per part, ‘Handling’ upgrades typically cut around 3-5 percent cost, and range upgrade typically increase by around 15 percent. Most upgrades have a weight cost to them except where they realistically wouldn’t. Larger ‘magazines’ typically increase reload TU cost by 2 percent.
