Description:

This mod is a collection of themed starts. They will range from small, basic, and tough to large and overpowered. Any changes add to the dataset rather than overwriting original data.

I will be adding to the mod periodically. I may consider requests, but have plenty of ideas to play with myself 😉

A Small Operation – 6 wanderers with high tech build options. They will need to accumulate resourses to capitalise on this advantage. Numbers dont scale wtih global unit size.

Hiver Drone Shinobi – 5 hive worker drones. Pretty well kitted out and very well trained. Numbers scale with global unit size.

Successfull Shek Treasure Hunters – A group of 10 elite Shek treasure hunters and 10 Skeletons. High tech build options, plenty of materials and cash. Numbers should not scale with global squad size.

Retired Veterans – Basically the retired captain start, but with 6 old soldiers. Numbers scale with global unit sizes.

Kensai – A sword saint (Kensai) wanders the land, aiding those in need where he finds them. Certain factions are particularly friendly. Single character, good with combat and competent in an assortment of other skills. Specialising in katanas. Basic clothing. Numbers should not scale with global squad size.

Swamp Mother – A lone survivor of Holy Nation aggression finds some eggs. Pretty tough start. Numbers should not scale with global squad size.

Bandit King’s Alliance – A prestigious bandit forges an alliance between a variety of outlaw factions. This is a big mod (52 starting characters with global size 1). Numbers will scale wirh global squad sizes.

Flotsam LRRP – A Long Range Reconnisance Patrol sets out from flotsam villiage. Numbers scale with global squad sizes.

A Family Affair – A small family and a couple of close relitives leave the big city to start a small farm. Numbers should not scale with global squad sizes.

The Grand Crusade – The Holy Nation dispatches a crusade to wipe out neighbouring beasts, heretics, and pretty much anyone/thing else they come across.

Hiver Survivors – A young prince and assorted hivemates flee the destruction of their hive. Hooking up with a skeleton, they find themselves in Mongrel and decide to settle down. This start will scale with global squad sizes.

Hungry Bandits – A group of Hungry Bandits. Pretty much unchanged from toolkit squad. 1 leader + 8-15 starvers. Scales with global squad size.

Dust Bandits – A group of Dust Bandits. Like starvers, pretty much unchanged from toolset squad. 1 dust boss + 5-10 bandits. Scales with global squad size.

Escaped Servants – A group of Escaped Holy Servants. As per other two bandit starts, mostly if not fully unchanged from toolset squad. 1 Escaped Servant + 6-8 Escaped Servants.Scales with global squad size.

Strange Bedfellows – ‘Misery makes for strange bedfellows’ is the saying, and this start position has a group of individuals working together to escape the cannibal cooking pots. Its a strange start, with many possible character types in the squad, and random numbers of each. Some are guarenteed at least one (Berserker, Escaped Servant, Shrieking Bandit, Adventurer, Caravan Boss, Caravan Guard, Wandering Trader, and Mercinary), 9 other characters may or may not be in the squad. Squad size scales with global squad size. Good luck and have fun. 😉

Breakout – An old Inquisitor, war weary and cynical, finds himself enslaved in rebirth. Not lacking in allies, he makes use of an unexpected distraction to enact a plan to get free. This is a tough and fairly large start. It does scale with global squad sizes.

Settlers – Basically freedom seekers start, but adds one each ofKensei, Hireling Medic, and Hireling Engineer. Scales to global squad size.

Traders From the Old Desert – this start revolves around a scorchlander caravan that has travelled from the deserts of the old map in search of more lucerative and slightly safer trade routes. It does scale with global squad multiplier, so the maximum members could hit 40.
