BACKGROUND

DAEMON PRINCE OF NURGLE: Daemon Princes of Nurgle are lumbering abominations whose unnatural resilience renders them nigh invulnerable. They are swollen with power, their groaning, corroded armour burst open by the bulging flesh within. Layers of rotting flab and putrid innards spill from their necrotic skin, insulating them against wounds from weapons, while notions of pain or weakness are long forgotten.

POXBRINGER (Herald of Nurgle): a mortal who resists the ravages of Nurgle’s Rot for a significant time creates an unusually long incubation period for the nascent Plaguebearer, resulting in a larger, tougher individual known as a Herald of Nurgle.

ABCELLYOTH, (True Herald of Nurgle): a scion of disease, this monstrous mass of vermin floats across the battlefield, sewing infection on the forces of enemies and allies alike.

MABROTHRAX: The Steward of Filth, as this thing is sometimes known, is believed to be the servant of Nurgle himself, and its appearance always foretells the outbreak of some new and dreaded plague. There are some legends that suggest it is in fact a Greater Daemon who is so powerful it can appear in the Old World at will without being summoned first. The stink of rot and faeces precedes the manifestation of this apparition. When in physical form, the Mabrothrax appears as a hunched, decaying humanoid figure which stands about 12 feet tall when fully erect. It has the appearance of a month-old corpse, and its skin is covered in festering boils.

FOULSPAWN: Foulspawn was one of the most diseased and disgusting of all Nurgle’s Champions. It was said that the sight of him was so horrifying that hardened warriors who saw him were rendered incapable of any action while they gagged and retched in disgust. Foulspawn is cursed with eternal hunger and devours anyone he comes across, which caused him to grow to a monstrous size and become imbued with the entropic energies of the Warp and seething with Daemonic plagues. According to legends however, while the Chaos Spawn’s growth and rampages greatly pleased Nurgle,Some say Foulspawn has now grown into the size of a living mountain, who is ever in search of more prey to devour.

J’IAN-LO: a Daemon Prince of Nurgle, J’ian-Lo stood over five metres tall, with a winged body devoid of flesh

JIBBERJAW: Jibberjaw was a gigantic Chaos Spawn, a creature so afflicted by the horrors of mutation as to be unrecognisable in origin and no longer subject to the bounds of physical laws or sanity.

PLAGUE TOAD: Plague Toads, also known as Rot-Eaters or Sewer-Kin are amongst the most foulest of daemons which inhabit the filthy sewers of the Old World. They are toad-like bags of brackish filth and pus whose wide maws can swallow a man whole.

PLAGUE HULK: ungainly and sickening to look upon. The Plague Hulk stagger into battle in a shroud of reeking vapour sand pestilent fog, poisoning the very ground they walk over. The Plague Hulk is a seething corpulent mass of putrescent daemon-flesh, at the centre of which sits a gaping maw capable of vomiting a tide of unspeakable foulness that can rot flesh and corrode metal.

GREAT CHAOS SPAWN OF NURGLE: Great Chaos Spawn are creatures that have endured for centuries in this loathsome state, their mutations bloating and growing until the creature reaches monstrous proportions. Unfortunately for the cursed individual who survives long enough as a Spawn to reach this size, a Great Chaos Spawn is all but impossible to kill, condemning it to an eternity of torments as a squealing mound of mutated limbs and churming fangs

BEAST OF NURGLE (Mutalith Vortex): a Mutalith Vortex Beast is an utter abomination of nature. It is a terrifying fusion of monster and magic, a creature mutated beyond all reason by the powers of Chaos. In battle, a Mutalith’s tentacles smash into the ranks of the foe.

HOOKTORS: they are slaughter-daemons of Nurgle, mindless warp-forms of immense physical power. Each of their limbs culminated in a huge, hooked toenail, a claw as heavy and grey as stone. They made their terrible gibbering. The wretched faecal stink of them filled the air. Thumping forward on their hideous toenails, they attack with unthinking frenzy.

MOLLUSCOID: Molluscoids are large snail-like Daemons of Nurgle, which possess hard gastropod shells that cover most of their bodies.

MULCH: Mulch is a gastrobominus, a gigantic snail-beast of Nurgle. Mulch attack by snapping his slime-encrusted jaws at its enemies.

GHULROTH THE SLAVERER (Herald of Nurgle): A mass of muscle and fangs beneath heavy rolls of stinking blubber, its thick, rubbery, grey-green hide is covered in weeping pustules and necrotic sores, and the creature’s foetid stench that is equal parts decay, excrement, and foul daemonic ichor hangs around the Slaverer like a shroud.

GIANT SPINED CHAOS BEAST OF NURGLE: Tormented and driven insane by its new hideous form, its soul driven by the base desires of the daemon within, the Chaos Beast seeks only to kill before being slain in its turn.

BILE TROLLS: are one of the most grotesque of all Troll breeds. Trolls are naturally hideous and malformed creatures, among whom a wide variety of different mutated subspecies and terrible deformities can be found but it is the Bile Trolls who rank above even these terrible breeds.

RAAK STONESHATTERER: was a Troll Chief, a beast afflicted with unusual intelligence and endless gluttony who, it is said united many of his monstrous kin in a great warband to challenge the Champions of Chaos themselves for the favour of the Dark Gods. Victory after victory fell before them, and Raak and his monstrous kin grew fat and arrogant, until on the plain of Scorched Bones they confronted the vast horde of Gulvas Bloatchild, favoured son of the Plague Father.

LUTOMORBUS: these gargantuan creatures rise from the mud flats, their huge bodies formed from countless corpses that form into crude limbs. They walk the surface from time to time and no scholar yet has been brave or foolish enough to attempt to discover why (and live to tell of it, at least). These massive amalgamations of the dead are truly dangerous, slamming their enormous fists (jutting with multitudes of jagged and broken bones) into the ground with unnatural force. When a target flees or proves too nimble to slam with its limbs, the Lutomorbus flings pieces of its form at them instead; the corpses explode into bone shrapnel upon impact, killing most near wherever it lands. All the while, it wails a baleful moan as it fights or searches for ever more opponents to add to its body.
