Description:

Thanatos— a sleek, stylised font for Europa Universalis IV.

This is a new HD map font; built upon the foundations made by Skenara with his HD map font for Ad Lucem. I updated his original code to add more functionality and took his idea further. Only compatible with Anbennar.

Main features:

  • High quality font with limited blurriness, achieved by splitting the texture glyph by channels, allowing a much higher resolution.
  • Colour and styles are added post-process by the map shader, want to change colour? Just edit the mapname.shader file, I’ve annotated it to make it easier.
  • Most islands have had their label moved to make it clearer, for groups of islands I tried to place the label by the port.

Additional Information:

  • Only compatible with Anbennar steam version, technically changes checksum so if used in mp, everyone will need it unfortunately. The bitbucket version isn’t compatible atm.
  • List of glyphs included: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ’.-&–—¨?!…ŠŒŽŸÝÀÁÂÃÄÅÆÇÐÑÞßÈÉÊËÌÍÎÏÒÓÔÕÖØÙÚÛÜ0123456789.
  • Please feel free to combine it with your own mods but do give credit to me and the other authors.

I’m planning on kerning it properly soon as well, though there is currently a bug in the base game, damn it Paradox. If you notice any overlapping text or misplaced text— please do let me know!
