[WOTC] Resident Evil 2: Remake G-Virus (BETA)
DISCLAIMER: This mod adds a custom head – you must have X2WOTCCommunityHighlander installed when using Mods with custom heads!
This mod is my first custom enemy mod, & is therefore a BETA release. If you encounter issues, please leave a comment / screenshot, or feel free to send me a friend request! 🙂
This mod’s enemies do not use Alien Ruler mechanics, as this is still my first enemy mod & I wanted to keep things as simple as possible.
I have purposely made many things in this mod configurable, so if you want to change stats, costs, encounter lists, etc. please take a look at any of the .ini files within this mod. LWOTC Users can also uncomment a few lines in this mod’s XComEncounterLists.ini to (hopefully) use these new enemies in their campaigns, as well.
Also please keep in mind that these models are on the heavier side, polycount-wise.
Updated to provide a soft fix to the game hang on overwatch/reaction fire kills of G-Stage 1 Tier 2’s, thank you for your patience with this!
The Lightning Hawk’s weapon attachment functionality has been migrated from Iridar’s Weapon Skin Replacer to Iridar’s Template Master. The mod’s requirements are updated to reflect this change.
Fixed a typo regarding the Lightning Hawk’s stats for magnetic/beam tiers, should (hopefully) fix that "no ammo" bug!
Changed the percent chance of Faceless Civilian vs Birkin Civilian to spawn: it is now 40% (Down from 60%) chance that you’ll find a Birkin Civilian (Variant 1 or 2 depending on force level) instead of a Faceless Civilian. Feedback is appreciated!
Added ‘PistolStandardShot’ Ability to all 3 tiers of Lightning Hawk for the secondary versions.
Lowered the encounter list’s spawn weights, especially for non-terror missions.
STAT CHANGES:
G3: +5 hp, +1 armor, +1 armor pierce
G2: +3 hp, +1 armor pierce

A long lost virus has made a resurgence, thanks to the cloning efforts of Advent & the Elders. A mad scientist, injected with this viral strain, acts like a ticking time-bomb amongst many of the innocents within the Resistance Havens. It’s up to XCom to discover a means to contain this biohazard, and put an end to the G-Virus.
- 3* New, Custom Enemies – based on the Faceless enemy type: G-Stage 1, G-Stage 2, and G-Stage 3. All 3 stages have Faceless Regeneration & Scything Claws. They are most commonly found in Advent Retaliation missions.
- G-Stage 1 comes in 2 variants: the first variant evolves from a cloned William Birkin Civilian that can be found in Advent Retaliation missions. The second variant evolves into G-Stage 2 upon its demise. (By default, Variant 1: MinForceLevel=3, Variant 2: MinForceLevel=9)
- G-Stage 2 has more mobility & health than its Stage 1 counterpart, and has the ability to ‘Bind’ and crowd-control XCom Operatives. (Encountered through G-Stage 1 Variant 2)
- G-Stage 3, featuring a custom-built animation set, boasts plenty of mobility, armor, health, and can acquire increased mobility by taking damage (like the Berserker’s enrage ability). (By default, MinForceLevel=15)
- 2 New Weapons, Birkin’s Pipe & Leon’s Lightning Hawk, which can be unlocked & upgraded via G-Virus Corpse Autopsies & Research. The Lightning Hawk uses Weapon Skin Replacer Template Master for Visual Attachments, and supports the Primary Secondaries mod!
- A story, mostly told through Tygan’s research & autopsies of the various stages of G, involving the pursuit of a vaccine! At the end of the research tree, DEVIL Vaccine (or G-Samples, if you’re feeling truly evil) may be sold for large amounts of supplies to the Black Market!
- William Birkin’s Face & Hair for soldier cosmetics – featuring proper face weights!

This Project took me a lot of time & energy. I learned a lot about IK controls, animation, abilities, encounter lists, strategy elements (research, tech trees), and much more. Outside of bug fixes, my next goal would be to take what I have learned to create even more in-depth enemies, perhaps in collaboration with other Modders 🙂
