History
In 1891–1894, a direct current power station with a capacity of 400 horsepower (corresponding to modern 300 kW) and a tram depot for the location of the first Lviv trams were built on the banks of the Mlynivka River. City electric facilities were created. Since then, the power station performed a triple task: it supplied current for the tram network; for city lighting; for lighting homes and industrial facilities.
The building had two reconstructions. The first reconstruction with expansion took place in 1900. The next expansion took place in 1906. In 1916, it was closed as a power station. Now it worked as a rectifier substation, which performs its function to this day.
