Steam Piston Controller [READ SETUP]
Today I present to you all the Steam Piston Controller, a simple yet effective method of tuning the timing in your steam piston engine.
TUNING:
By raising the Timing property, you can narrow the window of operation that the valves will be open.
By lowering the Timing property, you can broaden the window of operation that the valves will be open.
The best values I have found are 0.85 and 0.95, however I recommend you tune this depending on your engine.
SETUP:
Link the Piston Position output from the piston itself into the Piston Position input of the controller.
Link the Top Valve output into the upper intake valve and the lower exhaust valve.
Link the Bottom Valve output into the lower intake valve and the upper exhaust valve.
YOU MAY HAVE TO USE A STARTER MOTOR DEPENDING ON THE ENGINE’S LOAD.
