Description:

In the early 2000s Metrolink dreamed of the Super Commuter. Unlike UP they were on a budget and couldn’t go to the next locomotive manufacurer to place an order for the biggest thing he could design.
But since Los Angeles is known for its tuning szene they got creative. So in 2005 Metrolink bought some used F40s from Amtrak and some SD60 from UP. Goal was, they didn’t plan small, the most advanced tuning technique, an Engine Swap between the SD60 and the F40. But who would’ve guessed, an SD60 is bigger than an F40 and so the Engine didn’t fit into the F40 for a reasonable prize. Suddenly Metrolink had a few engines for sale.
Only one of the F40s was allowed to stay since it got overhauled by Amtrak shortly before the sale. It got the number 800 and the Metrolink livery and served as an yard switcher and backup engine.
In 2019 the engine got permanently disabled, because it was very likely the most polluting engine in the whole fleet.

The locomotive is available between 2005 and 2019. Thanks to MaikC for the base model and allowing me to do some minor changes on it.
