Description:

Hi everyone!

This was at first part of a major mod I’m doing, but as size was getting out of control and development is going slower than expected, I decided to upload it separately. I will probably change this mod’s name when I release that mod.

– What does this mod do?
It adds 215 loading screens in 4K resolution, it changes the default background images so they also have 4K resolution, and it doubles the event images resolution. Also: all images have been cleared with noise filtering algorithms, have been upscaled without losing any quality at all (hopefully), and have been re-colored to get rid of that yellowish "ancient/♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ country filter" many videogames and Hollywood movies have.

– Will I notice anything if my screen isn’t 4K?
Yes, certainly you will. Just try yourself!

– Where do these images come from?
A lot of them from Google. Some of them are Rome II’s promotional images, some others are in-game screenshots, others come from other games (you will easily recognize which ones come from Assassin’s Creed screenshots), some others were just found in Google without additional context or information, and a small part of them from other mods.

– Why the hell is this 3.4GB if they are only images?
Because there are 215 images in 4K resolution and PNG format, which are like 16MB per image (yes, I already compressed them as much as possible with three different algorithms). Plus main menu backgrounds. Plus the event pics. Do the math!

– Why 215 images?
I got tired of seeing the same loading images over and over.

– Will I notice a FPS drop?
No, they are just main menu backgrounds and loading images, they shouldn’t affect performance at all. In worst case scenario your game will take some additional time to load, like all big mods do, but it shouldn’t be noticeable (unless you do not have an SSD, I’m not sure if you will or won’t notice it in that scenario).

– Is it compatible with X?
Yes, it is. They are just images. Just make sure this mod is loaded first in your mod list if you don’t want these cool backgrounds, event pics and loading images get overwritten by some other mod.

Note: I use a professional screen, so the colors I see are probably not the colors you see. This shouldn’t be a problem, but if any image is too bright/too dark/too something please contact me.

P.S.: Originally I wanted the images to have 8K resolution, but game usually freezes at main menu if you use images that big.
