RFV Oiseau
Built in 1832 as a whaling vessel, the balener ‘RFV Oiseau’ was owned by a private company until she was sent into military service as a bal’o’war (balener ships turned to military service) for the Friedlandish navy in 1851 to fight in the Freisa-Spanish war as a light gunship. During the battle of Biscay she was struck under the waterline by a Spanish ship and was forced to dock at Le-Teste-Du-Buch for repairs. she was retired back into the trade service afterwards and was used until 1871 when she was drafted AGAIN to fight the Austrians in the Freisa-Austro war, and was sunken in port due to an explosion in the powder hold as somebody was mishandling a cannonfusil. No, we don’t like to talk about that.
I made it quick but it still looks good in my opinion.
