Ship of the Line
A ship of the line is a classification of warship from the 18th – 19th centuries. These vessel were meant to form rough lines, and with their heavy and plentiful armament, throw as many cast iron cannonballs downrange towards the enemy.
This specific model of Ship of the Line is a Third-Rate English warship. in the Royal Navy, warships meant for line battle were in rates from 1st to 5th. in short, this particular vessel is classified as a third rate as it has three gun decks and over 60 cannons.
a notable Ship of the line of the royal navy is the HMS Victory, a class 5 gunship that served as the English flagship in many battles.
note: this ship, like many other vessels of mine, is only for show due to the lack of muzzle-loading cannons in this game, which is obviously tailored for a more ww1-ww2 experience. sorry for the inconvenience!
special thanks to a certain friend on discord who suffered through the amazingly boring task of watching me make the whole ship, who cheered me on!
special announcement: working on a french frigate after this!
