Introduction:

This mod seeks to add a few weapons, abilities, and mechanics inspired by the Hollow Knight series. Namely, different types of Nail weapons. Originally starting as a commissioned weapon mod I was asked to post and take control of, I’ve added a few extra features to it and may do so again in the future.

Of note: Slashing, stabbing, and crushing weapon combos built into a handful of different weapons with aerial rave mechanics. Along with one superior quality weapon that has a bit more to offer.

I’m glad I could get everything working for this release, and hope everyone enjoys the work put in. Unfortunately, I’m still working out some bugs in the code with the more generic Nails, and they are required to have Pogo Sword to function properly. I’m looking into it. I have a few other designs I want to add at some point, but Idk that I want 10 weapons stuck with the exact same ability, so I’ll hold off on those until I can fix the issue.

Getting Started:
  • Press [C], and craft a Nail Forge.
  • Use the Forge to craft yourself a Tarnished Nail. (more recipes will be learned at this point, and in the future if more are added, this will be the method of accessing them)

Unique Mechanics:
  • Nails possess self-knockback for the player while grounded and self-knockup for the player while airborne, allowing for agile swordplay while pressing the attack.
  • Some nails (currently only SoulNail) have charged attacks, accessible by holding LMB.
  • Some nails (currently only SoulNail) have adaptive special arts, which can change their RMB actions significantly based on what the player is currently doing, such as standing, walking, jumping, or crouching.
