Eastern Levy Upgrades

Hey steam users, Rome II lovers and followers, I finally released another unit upgrade mod for the eastern factions in the game. The main goal is to stop the flood of weak eastern spearmen by providing those factions more variation in basic troops as well as powerful upgrades later in the game.
- 35 new units in total
- 9 unit upgrades for levy units, e.g. 2 upgrades for Eastern Spearmen
- 2 new levy unit lines for eastern factions: sword and axe infantry
- All eastern factions are affected
- Garrisons affected by unit upgrades, growing in size and strength
So basically all eastern factions now have 3 types of levy units: spear, sword and axe. In every line you can unlock 2 possible unit upgrades that will finally turn your weak basic troops into a powerful base for your armies. You’ll also get these better units in your garrisons making your town and city defendings easier.
Besides those 3 main lines there are two other upgrades for Eastern Skirmishers and Eastern Archers that provide better armour. A veteran archer unit will become available in late game. Finally a lot of new and upgradable units are also available as ship crews.

Upgrade them all!
This mod is part of Nordo’s Unit Upgrade Pack. I’ve combined several unit mods for different factions and cultures to eastablish an upgrade system for basic units. If you’re using this pack you don’t need to subscribe here additionally, although it shouldn’t lead to issues.
Compatibility
This mod works well with the base game and is not designed for complete overhauls. I don’t use Radious or DEI so I cannot tell you if it’s compatible or not but I guess it is not. However, in most cases there are no compatibility issues at all.
If you’re using Sebidee’s Unit Roaster overhaul there might occure a compatibility problem due to the Seleucids’ Spearmen upgrade. This issue is solved in my NordoUnit-Sebidee Compatibility Pack. I recommend to use my NordoUnit compilation mods together with this compatibility pack to get a complete improvemend of faction specific units. You can find a collection here.
This mod is not compatible with my old mod Additional Eastern Units. Just unsubscribe there if you want to play with this mod, all units there are also integrated here.
Unit Cards
I included vanilla 2d cards for the new units but I didn’t spend much time for them. I really reccomend to use NordoPic for 3D unit cards.
Language Support
Original is in English, of course. German players can use NordoGerman or take the strings from there to their UPC pack file.
