Description:
Manual doors begone!

This mod adds Automatic Doors and other Quality-of-Life features to all the vanilla subs, while leaving their combat effectiveness alone to respect vanilla’s intended balance and difficulty.

Automatic doors with "touch" detection range:
  • A tight detection range means the auto-doors still work well in containing leaks and floods.
  • These doors are entirely bot-friendly and will not cause any issues for the AI.

Properly storage-linked fabricators and deconstructors:
  • Most vanilla subs in 1.0 still have unlinked or improperly linked engineering/medical fabricators/deconstructors.
  • Ensures all fabricators and deconstructors are correctly linked to their nearest storage with "display side-by-side" enabled.

One-click, auto-resetting airlocks:
  • A simple and convenient airlock has been retrofitted onto every sub.
  • Click the button once and the airlock will open, allowing divers in/out. 4 seconds later the airlock will automatically close and reset back to initial state.
  • This airlock cannot break or get stuck under any situation and is adjustable from the delay component.

Bottom docking-hatch upgraded into airlock:
  • For subs that have a bottom docking-hatch, the hatch has been rewired to allow it to dual-function as an airlock.

Additional diving-suit lockers to match maximum crew size:
  • Most subs lack enough diving-suit lockers for their maximum crew size, which screws up bot behavior and leaves the sub a mess with half-empty suits all over the ground that the bots don’t know how to use, clean-up, or refill.
  • Yet if limited suit lockers was meant to increase difficulty, it doesn’t because human players can easily just wear a suit 24/7 or leave them on the ground as well.
  • This has been a huge annoyance more than a balance issue, and doesn’t reflect the maximum crew capacity stated on the sub.
  • Therefore additional diving-suit lockers have been added to match each sub’s maximum crew size.

Added Medical fabricators for Azimuth, Herja, R-29, and Berilla:
  • Lacking medical fabricators robs medics of having something to do during towntime, while also wasting time for the entire team if the medic has to craft in outposts.
  • The above subs are already average or sub-par for their tier, so it makes little sense to disadvantage them further, and is poor quality-of-life. Thus the above subs have had medical fabricators added.

These do not replace the vanilla subs, but are modified variants you can purchase for the same price

How can I switch to the Type-B variant when I already own the vanilla sub?

  • Sadly there’s no easy way other than to buy it again.
  • You can make it cheaper by opening the Type-B variant you want in the submarine editor, pressing F3, typing "debugdraw", then saving the sub with 1 mark cost.
  • But you’ll still need to transfer items and rebuy gun turrets like any new sub purchase.

  • Compatible with: 1.0.9.0, bots, and multiplayer
  • Safe to add and remove mid-campaign.
  • FULLY compatible with all mods since these are just subs.

To-Do:
  • R-29: In progress.
  • Berilla: In progress.
