Description:

What is known as a Snowspeeder is actually a T-47 Airspeeder to which modifications were made to adapt it to the rigorous climate of Hoth, the frozen planet which served as a home base for the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War.
The Snowspeeder was a civil airship that was added powerful canons and a harpoon gun with a tow cable. It would fly with two crew members.

This replica is equipped with twin heavy x2.5 cannons (based on Drako’s design). The proportions are accurate and it was made small enough to fly in between the legs of the AT-AT.
The harpoon gun is cosmetic only unfortunately (see more about this below).

A bit more info…

Just a word about the skin packs: if you want to keep it to the bare minimum, do not bother with the Chinese one since it only provides for two pilots (who are not even as big as they should be). It is still a nice touch IMO. Your choice.

About the tow cable.
I tried really hard to make a functional harpoon gun but it was just not possible. I tried two separate designs:

  • A tow cable made out of ball joints. The point was to have a "real" cable that would have been able to bind the ATAT’s legs. It proved highly glitchy, very heavy, impossible to store and to keep immobile in the hull.
  • A standard cable made of a string. It was already a downgrade from the previous design since it would not be able to bind anything properly but it was a lot less block demanding. However, it still created imbalance in the plane and did not shoot in a straight line which ultimately rendered it useless.

Have fun!
