Traptanium Portal
You might be wondering why a portal is a buddy. To that: it’s the most important part of the series.
(the Traptanium Portal and Skylanders are property of Toys for Bob and Activision)
A Traptanium Portal is gently placed into Rivals of Aether as not to break it! Much like most Portals of Power, the portal is stationary.
The portal stays stationary at its original spawn location. However, the portal has a trap inside of it — of which, can be assigned to your character!
For any unsupported characters, the trap in the portal is random. However, you can set the trap that’s put inside the portal with one simple variable! To assign the trap, assign the portal_element_override in your character. Skylanders elements encompass a lot of concepts, and as such, there’s a list below here (and a list in init.gml) of some examples for each element:
0 – Life (tends to be plants, growth, or living creatures. Crash Bandicoot and Donkey Kong are in this element)
1 – Fire (tends to be actual fire, lava, or heat. Bowser is in this element)
2 – Water (tends to be water or aquatic creatures)
3 – Air (tends to be air, wings, or thunder / lightning)
4 – Tech (tends to be robots, electricity, or machines. Dr. Neo Cortex would be in this element)
5 – Magic (tends to be really anything that’s magical. Pop Fizz is in this element, and Spyro would be here)
6 – Undead (tends to be skeletons, ghosts, or zombies. Cynder would be here)
7 – Earth (tends to be dirt, stone, and anything that deals with earthen materials)
8 – Light (tends to be actual depictions of light, but also stars)
9 – Dark (tends to be actual depictions of darkness, but also space)
