Hello kindred Empyrion spirits!

Let me start with a request; please respect blueprint authors. Often it takes months to finesse a build, and to have it ripped and reuploaded without permission or even so much as credit, can be discouraging, often pushing such authors away from the community.

I personally don’t mind critical feedback, and constructive criticism, as it will serve me to better my builds. However, If you enjoy my content, and there is much more to come, respect my (and others) authorship of these massive timesinks. Thank You.

Armament

The Thunderbolt 2 comes stock with 1 minigun, 2 lasers and a railgun. Thunderbolt 2 can mount up to 15 weapons, and 4 turrets (2 bottom, 2 rear)

survivability

The Thunderbolt 2 has a body encasement of Hardened Steel around the internal compartment, and cockpit which itself is armored.

A good measure of chain reaction mitigation has been done, though some areas might become weakspots if some thrusters aren’t properly installed.

Thrusters

Placement for additional thrusters extensively detailed in the tutorial video. Once thrusters are fully installed and upgraded, the build will excel at forward and reverse, enabling the player to engage and disengage with great discretion. Strafe, lift, and down thrust may be mediocre, depending on how the player loads out weapons and internal comparment space.

Features and Devices

Comes with Wifi, detector, fridge, and oxygen dispenser, and armor locker.

Space is provisioned for future placement for a Trauma Station.

Storage

Thunderbolt 2 comes stock with a modest 1.65k Harvest, and 3k ammo,

The ammunition cargo can be extended by connecting to marked boxes, though with internal space being crucial, discerning pilots will have to decide on the intended function of the build with limited space for devices.

Lore and History

The Earth Alliance forces invested in research for variants to its successful Thunderbolt starfighter. One of such projects produced the Thunderbolt 2, which ended up being a successor rather than a variant. R&D found that by reducing the wingspan a few meters on either side, that the starfighter could be housed in considerably more quantities within Earth Alliance Ships’ hangars.

The tradeoff of wider wingspan left the Thunderbolt 2 at a maneuverability disadvantage vs. its predecessor, but in greater numbers, and with a wider fuselage which allowed the Thunderbolt 2 to house a bigger electronics and avionics package for offense and defense, the advantages swung in favor of the Thunderbolt 2.
