Fire Ignites Players Slower
Should work on multiplayer.
Tested on build 41.
Can be added or removed mid-game.
- As long as you’re moving, there is no longer a chance you will instantly catch fire for touching a fire tile.
- And you will NOT instantly get the "burned" status which can cause you to limp.
- You will first yell "Yikes!" and then "Ahh!" instead of igniting to warn you before igniting.
- Even if you do catch fire, as long as you keep moving while on fire, there is a small chance to extinguish your fire and remove the burn status. (This is because fire resistance resets for all players every 10 in-game minutes).
This feels much more fair, fun and realistic in my testing.
Normally, the game checks if you’re on a fire tile and ignites you every x (random) seconds. So if you happen to be touching a fire tile at the wrong moment, you’ll ignite and receive the devastating "burned" status.
Every 10 in-game minutes, all players get this mod’s fire resisting benefits again. (Therefore you can safely run across fire every 10 minutes)
I mainly made this for the fire-heavy CDDA challenge because fire would suddenly spread 2 tiles towards me and instantly ignite me, causing me to limp and pretty much lose the run.
The other "Fire Resistance" mod by Tanuki on the workshop is really great for preventing instant igniting but the "burned" status which causes you to limp still remained and there was not much warning for how long you could stay in fire.
