The Battle of Fredericksburg was a battle that took place during the American Civil War from December 11-15, 1862.

This map is of the Marye’s Hights portion of the battlefield where the Confederates of the First Corps, commanded by Lt. Gen. James Longstreet, defended the stone wall in front of Marye’s Hights against seven Union Divisions. This was the most famous area of the battle, but the other portion of the Fredericksburg battlefield, Prospect Hill, is not in the map because that was over a mile away from Marye’s Hights and it wouldn’t fit in one map.
