Description:

Crystal Environment

Perfect to create maps covered in crystals!

Surfaces

It has 3 different surfaces, each carefully designed to provide a varied look, so that no matter what the situation, you can get the look you want. And by overlapping ground, Inverting it, or using mine Fundation on top, one can archive even more crystals and variety in style.

Fundation

To make a foundation, which fits into the theme, and does not confuse the player, as to where one can build or place mines was a challenge, especially since all other surfaces already have so many crystals. But i think i was able to achieve it, but I’m always open for criticism!

Ground Texture

This time i only made a singe actual texture, as it was very hard to make even this one without it looking repetitive. As the ground has very prominent lines to make it look like stone, but by doing so its much harder to disguise patterns.

Props

Naturally, every Crystal can be placed on its own, the same is with the stones. But on top of it, i made a mine shaft to add to the ambiance. (there is also a crystal tree, but better don’t use it, because it looks odd when zooming out)

The how much time i invested:

Creating a rough style and then Making the sketches of the individual crystals, stones, took 6~h, Completing them took another 8 hours.

The Creation of the background took the longest time, it’s composed of 3 separate Parts, The Moving clouds (4-5h), the mountains(10h), and the sky (3h).
Then putting everything together in the script (surfaces & background) + trial and error took another 8~h.

So overall it took a lot of hours of making more than 30h… So in short, i will probably stop making them for some time

( woud be cool if you coud leave a 👍🏻 review!)
