2039. Alleyways crawl with the dregs of Tokyo’s society, an effect of the dark cloud looming over the land of the rising sun. The Yakuza have become a stronger force throughout Tokyo than ever before, and while being nary a stone’s throw from total control of the country, lawlessness has corroded many a mind among their ranks. Large portions of Tokyo’s cityscape have been reduced to slums and crime dens, making the streets dangerous for anyone caught out in the night. Rebellions are often quashed shortly after they begin, but with times getting desperate, such groups are becoming more numerous. At some point, not everyone can be stopped.
