History
The Cg-4 was the most widely used American Troop/Cargo glider of WWII. Flight testing of the glider began in 1942 and more than over 13,900 gliders were delivered. This glider was incredibly simple and cheap to produce since it was made of Wood, Fabric and some metal parts. The CG-4A (In real life) could carry 13 troops and their equipment. Cargo loads could be a 1⁄4-ton vehicle (i.e. a Jeep), or a 75 mm howitzer, loaded through the upward-hinged nose section. Douglas C-47’s were usually used as tow’s for the gliders.
