Description:

Version: 3

Purpose:
1.) Adds 3 "new" races to play!
2.) Fixes the starting racial baises for the "vanilla" and "new" races.
3.) Made new custom traits and starting technologies so that this mod plays nice with the Split Tech Tree Mod
4.) Fixed Custom Race Menu
5.) Version 2 is Obselete!!! The alternate ship aesthetics created too many bugs and ultimately I crashed out more times than I care to admit.

Prerequisites:

1.) 5X Ultimate Balance Mod
2.) Unofficial Code Patch
3.) 5X UCP Compatability Mod

Installation:
1.) Follow your directory for Steam to steamappsworkshopcontent298050
2.) Select the folder with this mod inside.
3.) Go into the "assets" folder in this mod, select all the image files in each file, one at a file time and copy them.
4.) Follow your directory for Steam to steamappscommonMaster of OrionMasterOfOrion_DataStreamingAssetsassets
5.) Paste the image files you copied into their cooresponding folders(races, racial_traits, recources).
6.) All set!

Patch Notes and known bugs:

1.) To play the mod, make sure your Mods in the Mod menu are in the following order:
– 5X Ultimate Balance Mod
– Unofficial Code Patch
– 5X UCP Compatability Mod
– Mike’s New Races Mod v3

2.) In the Single Player/New Game menu; the Kevonian and Rustinite races, when trying to select them in single player, go off of the screen. They can still be selected.
3.) In the Single Player/New Game menu; the audio may continue for another race even after you select one of the new races. Press next and just reselect the desired race.
4.) In the Single Player/New Game menu; the menu may load a new race first and no leader will appear. Press next and just reselect the desired race.
5.) After starting a game in single player, give the game no more than 5 minutes to load unless you are loading a Massive galaxy or larger. If it doesn’t load, you may have to Ctrl, Alt, Delete out.
6.) The audio and diplomacy for the three races will be the original race, but the written text will reflect the new races as follows:
– Terran Khanate = Mikadon Dominion
– Darlok Cabal = Kevonian Collective
– Sakkra Brood = Rustinite Republic
7.) Racial Bias changes are now as follows:
– Alkari w/ Kevonian = Neutral, Alkari w/ Mikadon = Neutral, Alkari w/ Rustinite = Relaxed
– Bulrathi w/ Kevonian = Neutral, Bulrathi w/ Mikadon = Relaxed, Bulrathi w/ Rustinite = Unease
– Darlok w/ Kevonian = Wary, Darlok w/ Mikadon = Neutral, Darlok w/ Rustinite = Neutral
– Humans w/ Kevonian = Neutral, Humans w/ Mikadon = Wary, Humans w/ Rustinite = Relaxed
– Klackon w/ Kevonian = Neutral, Klackon w/ Mikadon = Neutral, Klackon w/ Rustinite = Neutral

8.) New Traits and Starting Tech:
– Resilient: Allows custom races that are not lithovores to be able to start on a volcanic homeworld.
– Mysterious Enzyme: Gives a slight research bonus on your homeworld.
– Centralized Governance: Allows custom race to start with Crust Prospecting and Geosynchronic Warehouse technologies.
– Imperial Ambition: Allows custom race to start with Destroyer and Ironclad technologies.

History:

My Dad used to play Master of Orion 2 when I was a lot younger. He introduced the game to me and my brother when we were teenagers and we loved it! One of the best parts was how completely customizable it was! So when I couldn’t name my own race in this new MoO, I was disappointed. I created this mod to see if I could recreate the old races we used to play as actual playable races, and so far so good! Pretty new to modding so as I become more experienced, I will try to flush out the bugs.
