Mississippi Logo Pack
**Update: Added Mississippian Railway***
This pack includes logos for several well-known shortlines in the Magnolia state. All have been tested in-game.
Included are:
-Columbus & Greenville: the most well-known shortline in the state, the CAGY has been running trains across Mississippi since 1923 between its namesake cities. Damage to a bridge in the early 2000s caused the middle portion of their mainline to be placed out-of-service, so today it operates as two sepate railroads based around Greenville in the West and Columbus in the East.
-Corinth & Counce: between 1959 and 1991, this shortline hauled goods between the railroad crossroads at Corinth and the lindustries located in the little town of Counce, TN on the Tennessee River. Kansas City Southern operates the route today.
-Meridian & Bigbee: chartered in 1926, the M&B operates nearly 200 miles of track between Mississippi and Alabama. Most famously, they carried parts of the Space Shuttle for NASA.
-Midsouth Rail Corp: created in the late 1980s to take over routes being abandoned by Illinois Central, it operated nearly 400 miles of track between Mississippi and Louisiana. In 1994, Kansas City Southern bought Midsouth and continues to operate these tracks today
-Mississippi Export Railroad: created in 1922 to haul wood products for sawmills, this shortline today is maintained to heavy railroad standards and has its own railcar maintenance facility.
-Mississippi & Skuna Valley: in operation from 1925 – 2008, this little shortline hauled wood products for a large sawmill in Bruce, MS. Damage to a bridge caused the railroad to be shut down and the tracks were scrapped in 2012.
-Mississippian Railway: established in 1923 to haul lumber products from the sawmill at Fulton down to the Frisco (today BNSF) interchange in Amory, the Mississippian Railway was famous around the country for being one of the last freight railroads to operate steam locomotives, only switching over to diesel in 1964. Both of its former steam locomotives survive today, one in Canada and one in the United States.
