AH-1 Attack Helicopter
Designed and manufactured in 1952, and just under a year after the UHT-1, the AH-1 began military service in June of 1952, not long after the completion of the first prototypes. The AH-1 Attack Helicopter utilized the same engine as the UHT-1 with a more lighter air-frame, also being more aerodynamic. The AH-1 featured a lower top speed compared to its counterpart, but made up for that in firepower and maneuverability.
starting with the former, this aircraft features 16 Rockets in pods mounted on the fin hardpoint on either side. 2 are fired simultaneously, giving you 8 shots. Additionally, there are 2 12.7mm Machine Guns mounted in between the 2 Rocket pods on each hardpoint. The gunner and the pilot can fire the 12.7mm’s, but only the gunner gets the ammo count. Additionally, the pilot is the only one able to fire the Rockets.
