HH-65C Dolphin (USCG AS365)
(VERY WIP AS YOU CAN TELL FROM THE INTERIOR)
so uh
yeah
epic dolphin time amirite m80s yeah i am
The
is a Coast Guard variant of the Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin, adapted in a great number of ways to fit the SAR/medevac/cartelcatcher role. It’s got a pointy snoot which gives it a distinctive appearance.
It first took flight in 1980 and entered service in 1985 according to Wikipedia, 102 were built.
If you want to catch some cartels you better supply your own rifle, equipment space is currently a little tight in the interior and there’s only space for one handgun.
To start it, just hit the big engine button. To lift off, you’ll have to press 5 to disable the collective lock (which locks the collective at 0 for landing).
The "lights" button will activate … lights … and the "creature comforts" button activates the climate control and cabin domelight, aswell as the radar display on the co-pilot’s mfd. Pressing once on the monitor will cycle between max range (5km) and short range (2km). I honestly have no idea if this is at all present on the actual HH-65C but hey it can be useful when searching. The large dial in the center of the dash (idk where else it can go) is the distance to a detected transponder beacon.
The hoist can be operated in 4 positions: pilot’s seat, co-pilot’s seat, the harness and a panel next to the winch on the roof. On that panel there is also the switch to rotate the winch inward for easier hosta– survivor, loading, or just for xtra streemlining if you feel like it. Beware of low-g pushovers, not because of mast bumping (irl got the rigid rotor hub) but bc the harness has been known to fly up into the blades. caution.
Sadly, because the only turbine that exists in this game is absolutely massive I can only fit one, with only the most dangerous part sticking slightly into the cabin
but hey its fine just crouch when youre walking around right? yeah
this might be fixed at some point. no promises
ALSO I would recommend using infinite fuel if you want to use it for much practical, It does have fuel aboard but it can be slightly unsatisfactory during a long SAR mission.
have fun
