Description:
Overview

The OH-58 Kiowa Warrior is an light attack and reconnaissance helicopter designed to assist ground troops by providing battlefield intelligence and direct fire support in all conditions. Able to carry a wide variety of both guided and unguided weapons, and equipped with an upgraded Mast Mounted Sight (MMS), the Kiowa Warrior is an ideal platform for armed reconnaissance.

This aircraft features state of the art technology in a small package. An integrated Datalink system enables easy management and sharing of target data with other vehicles, enhancing their capability and situational awareness. An advanced flight control system keeps the aircraft stable in all conditions and allows the pilot to shift focus to various instruments and weapon systems. The upgraded Multi-Function Display (MFD) system provides easy access to information from various screens such as the HSI or PFD, and gives improved control over display settings. A HUD overlay provides improved optics, and displays targeting and laser data in real time. To increase survivability in contested airspace, the Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) alerts the pilot of any radar lock or detection, and effectively decoys incoming missiles.

The versatility of the OH-58 Kiowa Warrior is a major contributor to its success in the battlespace. Working with other laser equipped aircraft or ground vehicles, the Kiowa Warrior can act as a launch platform for guided missiles, or provide terminal guidance for ground or sea based missile platforms. In addition to its combat roles, the Kiowa can act as a lightweight cargo helicopter carrying underslung loads, or provide limited C/SAR support by locating distress beacons.

Whatever the mission, the Kiowa Warrior is sure to make an impact.
