DYNAMIC SPECIAL OPS II

After many requests and a lot of super kind messages I’ve been getting for the last couple of months, I’ve decided to remaster Dynamic Special Ops. This version is much more optimized, and I’ve gotten rid of all the superfluous elements of the former version. I did my best so that everyone has fun. I hope you guys enjoy DSO II.

DSO II is a simple dynamic mission generator, using Drongo’s Map Population at its core system along some scripts taking advantage of the framework. Complete dynamically generated Direct Action missions, in a randomly chosen and populated AO. For singleplayers and multiplayer, small and big groups alike. Plan missions as you want, play as you want. DSO II is entirely customizable, no heavy scripts hinder users to modify the files as they want.

MAIN FEATURES:

– DSO II is meant to be used as a template, even though it’s plug and play. Customize anything you want in the editor (YT tutorial coming soon)

– Dynamically generated missions in a randomly populated AO, infinite replayability. Designed for either short or longer sessions.

– Direct Action missions designed for infantry and pilots: HVT search and kill, HVT capture, hostage rescue, destroy caches, meet Civilian Leader, kill enemy squad, destroy vehicle, demo building.

– Random OPFOR units (Default faction = 3CB African Extremists) : statics, patrols, garrisons, remote patrols, camps, vehicle patrols and roadblocks. Also IEDs, VBIEDs and suicide bombers.

– Civilian life, trafic and interactions.

– Equip your AI teammates and yourself using Ace Arsenal. Choose and customize land vehicles using the Virtual Garage.

– Choose the time of day.

– Simplex Supports and Services for Helicopter transport and CAS, plane CAS and UAV surveillance.

– HALO/HAHO insert, with or without vehicles, thanks to Pandemic’s script.

– You can choose to get some intel before heading to the AO.

– Performance friendly : AIs are cached up to a certain distance for almost no performance hit. During play testing, groups were getting close to 60 fps during the whole game.

– Zeus enabled for #adminlogged.

– All the features above are 100% customizable as you want.

– This specific mission can serve as a template for a African themed dynamic mission on any other terrain.

HOW TO PLAY:

– To play in SP: go to multiplayer, host server, select the corresponding terrain, then the scenario.

– Upon spawning, please allow the mission to load for 30 seconds max.

– Head to the HQ to choose your loadout, missions, time of day…

– Missions are generated based on what DMP spawned. As a consequence, try to not ask for too many of the same mission. For example, you could choose : Kill HVT, Destroy Cache and Destroy Vehicle without issues.

– Complete the missions, then extract from the AO to complete.

IMPORTANT:

– Some weird spawning may occur from time to time.

– If a mission does not generate for some reason, try another one or restart DSO.

– I probably won’t update the mission except for fixing obvious bugs. I do have other projects that I plan to release though.

– If any other bug occur, first make sure you tried playing with ONLY the required mods, if it still happens let me know.

NOTES:

– PLEASE watch the tutorial video to get you started.

– Compatible with almost any mod, except VCOM and some GGE mods that breaks most supports mods like Simplex. I personally use JSRS, LAMBS, Immerse, Animate, Drongo’s Command Enhancements, Project SFX… without any issues.

– I am not a professional scripter/mission maker (I wish I was) so my knowledge is pretty basic. As a consequence, you may requests some features but do know it might not happen if it is too complicated.
– I won’t make a version without ace, at least for now. You can disable any part of ace like the medical system and such, if you don’t like it. It only requires the interaction system for Simplex.

– Mod number is high for some people, but in my opinion you get only so much out of 100% vanilla scenarios. But since DSO is 100% customizable, feel free to remove/edit any part you want. You can also remove ace entirely if you remove Simplex too and choose another support mod.
