Logo used by the national Spanish railway company – Renfe Operadora – from 2005 onward.
Renfe operates passenger and freight service on Iberian/wide gauge, International/standard gauge (called "European gauge" in Spain), and narrow gauge rail lines. The AVE high speed service between Madrid and Barcelona is operated using rolling stock certified at a speed of 350 km/h – among the highest of any trains in the world. However, trains on this line only travel at 310 km/h, just shy of the 320 km/h benchmark for the fastest passenger service in Europe.
