History:
The Battle of Verdun, also the Verdun Meat Grinder, was a set of military actions of German and French troops during the First World War on the Western Front, held from February 21 to December 18, 1916. One of the largest and one of the bloodiest military operations in the First World War, which went down in history as a textbook example of a war of attrition. During the battle, French troops managed to repel a large-scale offensive by German troops in the vicinity of the city of Verdun.
