Gameplay Description

Prussia is a military-focused civilization that spikes in power in the late Renaissance and Industrial Eras. Create your own Zollverein customs union with city-states and trade with them to boost your cities early on.

Just like Frederick the Great, you must also become an enlightened patron of arts and education in order to reach the key civics of Mercantilism and The Enlightenment as soon as possible. These civics double the trade route bonuses of Zollverein and give your Melee units the full power of Prussian discipline respectively. This makes for an opportune window to seize rich lands for Prussia, just like Frederick the Great seized the industrial region of Silesia.

Your next great power spike is with the Rifling technology, which unlocks the Dreysejäger unique unit. These fearsome soldiers, sporting the iconic Prussian blue uniforms, Pickelhaube helmets, and the Dreyse needle-guns, are able to attack twice, if movement allows, and are sure to overpower your foes and cement your status as the strongest military power in the whole world.

Grant your powerful Junker nobles lands, so that they serve your army as generals. Will your leadership be remembered throughout history and your name known as ‘the Great’? How will you lead Prussia in Sid Meier’s Civilization IV?
