Description:

Requires four packs:
EMD SD70 Mega Pack – made by Halton
GE C40-8W – made by Halton
Geep Expansion Pack Pt. 1 – made by Jeri_
Southern Pacific GS Pack – made by Stationmaster

(This is a pack of four American locomotives that all have the number 4444. New Zealand’s DC 4444 is not included because that engine is already in the base DC pack).

The engines that are in this pack are as follows:
– BNSF C44-9W No. 4444
– CSX GP40-2 No. 4444
– Southern Pacific GS-4 No. 4444
– Union Pacific SD70M No. 4444

(I’ve updated the CSX locomotive to use the new GP40-2 model in Jeri_’s pack).

I have previously released my SP 4444 re-skin as part of a GS-4 and GS-5 pack. This new version is named after the American singer and songwriter Ann Wilson, who is perhaps best-known for being the lead-singer of the band ‘Heart’. Of course the naming is fictional, in the sense that Ann’s name has never been carried by any real locomotive, let alone a GS-4.

Here’s a short list of Heart songs I recommend checking out:

Magic Man
Crazy On You
Barracuda
Straight On

The other engines in this pack are all diesels, and here is a brief history of each engine.

BNSF 4444 is a General Electric C44-9W, and was built in May 1999. She has remained in service as recently as 2019, but I haven’t been able to find out what her current state is.

CSX 4444 is an EMD GP40-2, and was built in May 1979, originally for ConRail as their number 3379. She was inherited by CSX when they bought-out 42% of ConRail assets in the late 1990s. CSX have kept this engine in service, but have since renumbered her to 6966.

Southern Pacific 4444 was built by the Lima Locomotive Works in 1941, and was one of GS-4 locomotives built for the SP (this is the same class as the famous 4449). She remained in service until the late 1950s, when she was replaced by diesels. Sadly 4444 didn’t survive into preservation.

Union Pacific 4444 is an EMD SD70M, and was built in August 2001, as one of an impressive 1,000+ SD70Ms ordered by UP. She is now 20 years old, and still in service today.
