Description:

(Requires Stationmaster’s U50C model).

The Professor of Rock is a YouTube channel (run by Adam Reader) that celebrates – to quote the man himself – ‘The Greatest Artists and the greatest songs of all time’. In other words, Mr. Reader’s videos are about the history of certain songs, certain artists (and other notable moments throughout their careers).

For me, the highlight of this channel is the many, many interviews that Mr. Reader has conducted with a huge variety of famous artists from the second half of the 20th century (and some 21st century artists too). Some of the artists that he’s got interviews with are as follows:

Ann Wilson (from ‘Heart’)
Eddie Money
Geoff Downes (from The Buggles and Asia)
Huey Lewis
K.T. Tunstall
Neil Finn (from Crowded House)
Patty Smyth (from ‘Scandal’)
The Zombies

(I could go on listing examples all day, but I think eight is enough. If you haven’t heard of any of the aforementioned artists, that’s understandable, especially in the case of The Zombies).

It should go without saying that this is a fictional livery, but the locomotive’s number is not. The real U50C No. 5028 was built by GE for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1971. This would make her 50 years old if she was still around today, but unfortunately the U50C locomotives proved incredibly unreliable, and they had all been withdrawn and scrapped by the start of 1980.
