ATSF L1 2-8-2 884
UPDATE 2/21/2023: Updated as a result of the L1 being updated.
A little quiet for content given that i’ve been busy with vacation and school. Nonetheless, here is a single locomotive to hang in until the Grab Bag.
The PRR L1s were introduced between 1914 to 1919 with 574 built in total. Throughout the 1940s, a small amount of L1s were sold to various railroads, with three being sold to the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe in 1945 around World War II. The locomotives were renumbered to 882-884 and had uneventful lives working for the railroad until there retirement in the 1950s. While none of the three Mikados survived, PRR 520 is preserved at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, PA.
What you get is one of the Mikados, #884 as it still maintained the PRR specs and original tender. Nonetheless, hope you enjoy this small release.
