Great Northern Y-1
In 1927, the Great Northern Railway ordered 8 Y-1 electric boxcabs for their 73 mile electrified district in Washington, from Wenatchee to Skykomish. They served the railroad for 30 years carrying freight and the Great Northern’s premier passenger trains, like the Empire Builder, through the world-famous Cascade Tunnel. Thanks to the modeling efforts of Eirjan and Crashcast E, this heavy haul locomotive is now available to haul your trains!
