Description:

The last Dash 8 model i’m doing, so feel free to enjoy the passenger variant of these series of locomotives, the GE B32-8WH.

The B32-8WH is essentially a passenger-variant of GE’s Dash 8 series only purchased by Amtrak as a supplement for there F40PH fleet. In 1991, Amtrak placed an order for 20 locomotives #500-519 for use on long-distance journey’s during the early 90’s. They were nicknamed “Pepsi-Can’s” due to there livery being like the Pepsi Can’s. They totaled 3,200hp, had HEP equipped, and a top-speed of 103mph.

Today, the B32-8WH’s are still in service, but have been displaced by the GE Genesis locomotives. They still serve Amtrak by doing odd-jobs from switching at the many yards in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and Oakland. They also tackle MOW trains, transfer service, and often substituting Genesis locomotives on the major passenger trains, also with some being used on Cascade Services on occasion. This pack only contains the Phase V that is still used today.
