Tesla-Matic 2.0: even more evil than the original!

This tazer punishing torture tool has been altered to fully work with new the features of Prison Architect V2.0 and is now equipped with buttons to let you decide what punishment the receiver will get. Besides being tazered, you can choose if the prisoners get injured, will wet their pants, or even worse…yuk.

The Tesla-Matic requires a special Tesla Battery to operate. It will be ordered automatically and once loaded into the Tesla-Matic by a workman it will start to charge with an animation.

A fully loaded battery can give a minimum of 5 tazer shots in a row to all nearby prisoners within a given range.

During operation, the Tesla-Matic will flash when it zaps prisoners.

Once depleted the battery will recharge, but Tesla Batteries need replacement after being recharged for ten times (thus giving you 50 tazer shots in total per battery).

The Force Recharge button will recharge the battery when it’s not fully loaded. However, this will cost you 1 Recharge Time (so you will end up with less than 50 shots in total). A dead battery will give a sound so you’ll notice when it gets removed and replaced by a workman. If a new battery doesn’t get installed (when you cancelled that job), then you can press the Install Battery button to get a new one. But normally you shouldn’t need this button.

The Tesla-Matic can be turned on/off via a PowerSwitch or DoorTimer and holds buttons to control various things:
  • The Voltage setting
    …can be low, medium, high, ultra or insane. When on low, tazer shots have less tazed impact on prisoners and will use less energy from the battery than at ultra setting. Insane voltage requires a full battery and depletes it after one shot.
  • The Interval button
    …decides how many tazer shots they get. You can set it to low/medium/high/hourly, meaning approximately every few minutes, every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes or once per hour.
  • The Range buttons
    …specify the operating range between 3 and 15 square meters.
  • The Tazer button
    …you can toggle between tazing everybody, or only misbehaving (=escaping, rioting, fighting, destroying or spoiling) prisoners. Taze ‘only misbehaving’ will zap, say 4, fighting prisoners in a crowd of 49. For this to work good, the Interval should be at Low.
  • The Ignore Nobody button
    …the fortunate prisoner(s) (injured or not) will generously get several tazer shots in a row until they are smoking and the battery needs recharging.
  • Button Damage
    …combined with Ignore Injured this will give only one tazer shot per prisoner. Once injured he/she won’t receive a new shot, unless you specified to Ignore Nobody.
  • When Damage is on you have a choice between Not Deadly, Suffer and Die or 1 Shot 1 Kill setting.
  • You can toggle Smoke on or off
    …to give things an even more morbid effect if you wish. Note: a lot of smoke brings a lot of lag as well. But there is a convenient Clear Smoke button to get rid of it.
  • The buttons Bladder and Bowels define what they will do in their pants.
  • The most nasty button is the Tazer NOW
    …it will override the Interval setting and deliver an immediate tazer sweep. This can be used for an ’emergency’ situation, but it can also be abused, since there is no brake on this one. If you want to push it to the limits and need to stress-release a bit, why not click it 125 times in a row… See if I care if your game crashes due to mass abusing this button.
  • You will need to research Torture Cells before you can buy the Tesla-Matic.
Adds content:

2 new Objects: Tesla-Matic TM2A & TM2B (found in the Utilities menu). Same machine but different height so you can position them better on walls or floors.

2 new Rooms: Torture Cell & Tazer Therapy

3 new QuickBuilds: Torture Cell (empty rooms, place a TeslaMatic in them where you want) & Tazer Therapy

New Reform Programs

Behavioural Tazer Therapy, 3 hours, 2 sessions of tazering pleasure for those who murdered a prisoner or attacked the staff.

Anti Alcohol and Anti Drugs Tazer Therapy, 2 hours, 1 session. Inmates with a drugs record are sent here by the Psychologist or Doctor, in order to get rid of their addiction by ‘experimental electrical impulses’.

Voluntary Tazer Therapy, 2 hours, 2 sessions for those prisoners with problems they carry from the past, who have tried everything else already but still ended up in prison, and who are open for experimental positive brain stimulation via electric impulses.

You decide what happens during these reform programs by configuring the Tesla-Matic. Prisoners attending these programs will get a calming effect.

These therapy sessions can be scheduled outside of Work, prisoners can be escorted, it’s repeatable, and lead by a Tesla-Matic Expert and a Shady Tesla Dude (both require office).

Tesla-Matic 2.0 is a completely rewritten script of the cool original Tesla-Matic mod made by hoosdatGuy.

UPDATE:

– The Tesla-Matic can now perform 1 Shot 1 Kill. In order to enable this, there are 4 requirements:
– it can only be done when voltage is ‘insane’,
– the interval has to be set to ‘hourly’
– side effects has to be set to 1 Shot 1 Kill instead of Suffer and Die
– the battery has to be completely full.

– added Tazer Therapy quickbuild room for your convenience

– added a grant for the Tazer Therapy.

TIP

for Tazer Therapy sessions: use a DoorTimer to enable the Tesla Matic during the second hour of the various programs, so the first hour will be used for prisoners to be brought to reform and to actually learn something from the reform as well, before the real ‘therapy’ kicks in. This way, prisoners will also be able to actually pass the reform sessions. As soon as the first tazer sweep hits the prisoners, their reform will usually halt and they’ll be in a state of calming shock.

EXAMPLE
See the screenshots above. The left and right Tesla-Matics are configured to run a light or heavy program. In this case, Alcohol and Drugs reform get light program, Behavioural and Voluntary get a heavy program.

The Tesla-Matic on top of the Infirmary wall to the right makes sure no fights break out when snitches and other prisoners meet in Therapy. Its range is set to cover the two Therapy Rooms and the little Infirmary above it as well.

Three doortimers control when the Tesla’s should be active. Of course the Tesla controlling misbehaviour starts as soon as the therapy sessions start, since from that moment on snitches and other prisoners will be brought by guards to that room. It’s active for most of the time, since sessions start soon after each other.

The two therapy Tesla’s each start one hour after their reform programs start, so the first hour of the reform program is used to reform, and the second hour is used to be tazed.
