BA&S Pack
Here we go from the Chicago-land prairies to the Northeast, nice bit of a scenery change.
A fictional railroad i have from the Northeast (as the name says), the Buffalo, Altoona, & Southern. Formed in 1897, it was it’s own railroad until 1969 (Except when it was temporarily owned by the NYC and the Pennsylvania from 1931-1933, but that’s another story) when it was bought-out by its main competitor at that point, Erie Lackawanna. When PC went bankrupt, all chaos broke lose; as after that happened, Hurricane Agnes hit the Northeast even bringing down the mighty Erie Lackawanna. After this, Conrail (Its official name was Consolidated Rail Corporation) absorbed all the railroads around it including Reading, Penn Central, the Erie Lackawanna, and by extension, the BA&S.
The BA&S Preservation Society has one surviving steam engine, a BA&S G3-c Mikado, a BA&S Offset Cupola Caboose, and a BA&S E-Unit at the Illinois Railway Museum.
