Description:

The AI cannot build forts, so why should the player?

Simple mod that removes the "Build Fortress" and "Build Water Fortress" ability from all laborer units. These units are still useful for building roads, watchtowers, and healing other machines once upgraded with a Master’s Guild. Nothing else was changed.

I created this mod for two reasons:

1) The game’s difficulty level considers forts as player cities. Since the AI gets an expansion bonus based on the number settlements the player currently has (+1, or +3 for King, +4 for Emp) this means spamming forts can actually make the game harder. For every fort the player builds, the AI gets to build a city.

2) If you play with City Founding disabled, it doesn’t disable building forts. This means only the player can organically expand.
