TR PQ-Class
In the aftermath of WWI, the Topeka Railroad needed a powerful engine to handle the trains, thus in 1919 they would order the PQ-Class form CLW. They were built in 1919, 1921, and 1922 ranging from PQ-1 to PQ-4 as well as PQ-2-B and PQ-4-A, they were numbered 7100 to 7231, although they were built for switching the engines often found themselves assisting the Pacific’s, until engines like the 6000-Class and LH-Class started to be introduced. By WWII however they were sent back onto main-line fright moves due to war time needs. Retirement started in 1953 and ended in 1957 all were scrapped, well all but one. . . 7102 was donated to the City of Denver after being withdrawn in 1956. She would stay there until 1994 when she was brought by the Friends of 3338 Organisation and after a 5-year overhaul she would run for the first time since 1956, however by that time the Friends of 3338 Organisation was in a completely different place. In 1999 they were forced to donate their star engine 3338 to Protractor Shore Shortline as well as scrap Santa Fe 49 in 1997. Thankfully 7102 was saved by the Heber Valley Railroad where she operates to this day.
