Power of Faith
NOTE: For now this mod only adds some decisions, but there’s a lot more planned for the future. Additionally, your character needs to have a high enough level of devotion to use the decisions as otherwise the divine thinks you’re cringe and unworthy of its blessings.
PUT YOUR HANDS UP IN PRAYER, FOR THE LORD BLESSES THAT WHICH WORSHIPS HIS GLORY, THAT WHICH FEARS HIS WRATH
This mod adds the following:
– An "opener" decision that gives you a flag allowing access to the other decisions
– 6 stat-boosting decisions. Each one costs piety (same as amount needed to establish a holy order) and a level of devotion and has a 50% chance of increasing one of your base stats.
– A "closer" decision that removes the flag. It and the first decision are just here to avoid cluttering your decision menu.
This mod is best for a game where you’re playing with the idea that whatever your character worships is both real in-universe and will go out of its (or their) way to reward good followers.
As with anything that rewards having lots of piety this can make anything that makes piety easy to get OP such as your religion having the human sacrifice tenet.
Compatibility:
– Should be compatible with pretty much everything as it overrides no vanilla files.
– Will continue being compatible with everything as planned future features will not override vanilla files either.
Likely future features:
– Cooler system of divine reward and punishment, including rewards/punishments gained not through decision but simple chance, although that chance is increased, decreased or nonexistent depending on your devotion. This includes things like gaining or losing traits (including ones that will be added by this mod), temporary modifiers and so on.
– Probably swap out simple stat boosts for modifiers that boost stats but have an attached piety cost.
– Being able to pray for divine rewards for your kids, courtiers or vassals.
– Evil/anti-faith versions of some religions. Christian and struggling because you’re just too sinful? Become a Satanist via a decision only accessible to Christians/Muslims and see if the unholy blessings you recieve for being in a religion that considers your sins virtuous are enough to trump the fact that you’ve just made yourself a lot of enemies!
– Letting the AI have fun with this too.
– Anything both suitable and doable that you guys suggest in the comments or my discord
