(WIP) Rusty textures for Filibuster Rhymes’ Used Cars.

As the name suggests, this is a texture pack designed for the Filibuster Rhymes’ Used Cars mod!

To begin with, this is a work in progress (WIP) that was initially intended solely for my server.
It marks my first venture into modding, and I’ve gained experience working with textures in the process.
As a result, some textures currently look much better than others. Nevertheless, I plan to persist and enhance the mod whenever time permits.

To-dos:

Create textures for vanilla vehicles.
Rework the other textures.

FAQ:

Q: Does the texture pack work with existing save files?
A: Yes.

Q: What about multiplayer?
A: Yes.

Q: Any conflicts with other mods?
A: Only with textures affecting Filibuster’s Used Cars.

Q: Is rust caused by poor condition?
A: No *1.

Q: Why is this so?
A: I lack the knowledge to implement this in the game *2.

Q: Can I remove rust from the vehicle?
A: No *3.

*1 The car can rust even more, and scratches and dents may occur, but the detailed rust is anchored in the base texture.
*2 I tried using the overlay texture I found in the game files but had no success. I believe the game generates the original rust just like the colors of vehicles that don’t have a fixed color assigned through the texture. However, this doesn’t achieve the level of detail. I think with some knowledge of Lua, this could be implemented. Next year, when I have more time, I’ll look into it.
*3 This is also not possible (yet) because the rust is drawn onto the base texture.

Requirements:

The mod Filibuster Rhymes’ Used Cars.
The texturepack must be loaded after the original mod.

Trash and Corpses

All credits go to Filibuster Rhymes. When I think about how much work it is to edit a few textures,
I don’t want to imagine the amount of work and passion invested in the used cars mod.
