Yang Xiao Long (BBTAG/RWBY)
Yang Xiao Long from RWBY. She is a brawler with decent damage that does best with ground and grab combos. Once her semblance is active, she becomes a much more threatening foe with slightly better frame data and overall stronger moves.
Up Strong and Down Strong: Yang’s up and down strong are functionally different than any fighter you would play as. Up Strong functions as a chargeable combo starter that can combo into about any aerial. Down strong works as a tripping/knockdown move that will force the opponent into the getup state.
Neutral Special: Firecracker. Yang fires a shot from her gauntlet. Up Special: Uppercut. Utilizing her gauntlet for additional damage, Yang unleashes a two-hit uppercut on the opponent. When her semblance is active, this move hits three times.
Down Special (Ground): Cold Shoulder. Yang rushes towards the opponent to grab them. If the move connects, she lifts them up and hoists them over her, using her gauntlets to inflict more damage.
Down Special (Air): A risky move in which Yang rises and then plummets to the ground at a fast speed. The beginning and first 3 frames of this move are jump cancel-able, but once she starts falling she won’t stop. This is a very strong move, but using it offstage will result in your death if you don’t jump out of it in time. There are a short few frames in which this move spikes, however it is incredibly difficult to land.
Side Special: Burst of Embers. Yang fires her gauntlets behind her to send herself flying towards the opponent. If the move connects, the player can choose one of two options. Pressing attack once the move connects will do Rising Fire, which is a short uppercut followed by a kick that does a good amount of knockback. Pressing Special after the move connects will do Hot Swish, where Yang will grab and then hit the opponent with an overhead kick, causing them to bounce of the ground.
Unique Mechanic: Semblance (Burn). Once Yang reaches 100%, she’ll activate her semblance "Burn." This gives her slightly better frame data and increases the damage and knockback of most of her moves. Some moves are altered to overall be better while Burn is active.
