Description:

This is the Topeka Railroad’s F-1 Duplex 4-4-4-4

History:
In 1934, The Topeka Railroad needed a fast locomotive to pull express trains. so they decided to loan a PRR T-1, It preformed really well. So they made 4 F-1 Duplex 4-4-4-4 Locomotives, Numbered 4400 to 4403. They Preformed So Successful that the TR had Purchased 10 more, the new batch numbered from 4404 to 4413. They were the Icon of the Topeka Railroad. They even went faster than LNER’s A4 Mallard with the F-1s having a top speed of 150 MPH (which in Rolling line it only went 224 KPH). Sadly they can’t stop dieselization, and by 1953, All of the F-1s were scrapped. However, one locomotive 4410 (Just the Locomotive without the Tender) was saved from scrap. it was moved to the IRM in 1965, then it was donated to the Topeka Railroad in 1980, the Topeka Railroad had plans to restore it. In 2023, they completed Restoration on the Locomotive but they needed to build a new Tender.
